In honor of St. David’s Day, Utah companies joined Dr. Zowie Hay, head of North America for the Welsh government, for a unique Crossroads of the World luncheon on Monday, February 26 at 12 p.m.
Special thanks to the BYU Welsh choir who provided the group with a very special performance.
Fun facts:
Wales boasts more castles per square mile than anywhere in the world.
Utah's own Dr. Martha Hughes Cannon, renowned suffragist, state senator, and physician, was a Welsh immigrant to Utah!
Situated on the island of Great Britain with a population of 3.1 million people, Wales is one of four countries that make up the U.K.
This event was hosted in partnership with the Governor’s Office of Economic Opportunity and the Salt Lake Chamber.
Zowie Hay
Zowie Hay is Head of North America for the Welsh Government. She is the senior diplomat for Wales in North America. She joined the Welsh Government in 2011, and has experience across a range of government departments.
Zowie has extensive expertise in the fields of political science, public policy and data analysis. She holds a BA in Politics and International Relations from Lancaster University, and an MA in International Relations and Mandarin from the University of Durham. She was awarded her PhD in Political Science from Texas A&M University in the United States.
