Bulgaria in Bloom 🇧🇬

Bulgaria is blossoming as a key economic hub in Southeast Europe, offering Utah businesses access to diverse sectors ripe for growth. During a luncheon with Bulgarian Ambassador Georgi Panayotov, Utah companies learned about Bulgaria’s thriving sectors and welcoming investment environment. Ambassador Panayotov highlighted areas where Utah businesses can succeed in Bulgaria, especially in high-growth fields such as:

  • Aerospace and Defense: Bulgaria boasts a strong tradition in defense manufacturing, supplying NATO and international allies. Its aerospace industry is rapidly advancing, with Bulgarian companies specializing in nanosatellite technology and working with NASA, the European Space Agency, and other global partners.

  • Technology: Bulgaria is home to Eastern Europe's largest AI research institute, supported by global leaders like Google and Amazon. This high-tech ecosystem is drawing attention from U.S. firms eager to collaborate, and Bulgaria's skilled tech workforce continues to drive growth in sectors like biotech, AI, and precision engineering.

  • Energy: Bulgaria has transformed its energy landscape by diversifying into nuclear, renewable, and LNG resources, ensuring energy security and independence.

This event is hosted in partnership with the Governor’s Office of Economic Opportunity, the Salt Lake Chamber, and doTERRA
